  6.  program is forbidden, strictly illegal and is in fact a violation of federal
  7.  copyright law.

  9. You may ask why I am including a separate file now that states this warning.
  10.  Well its simple.  Some moron has decided to write a "utility" that will
  11.  de-compile PPES's.  Obviously this basically makes all of the PPE authors
  12.  registration schemes just about worthless.  I employ a VERY simple scheme, I
  13.  don't load the code down with checks to see if its been altered.  I rely on
  14.  the fact the most of the PCBoard Sysop's out there are honest, and would pay
  15.  for a program that is well written and does something they need it to do.
  16.  I don't write this program to become rich.  I have had about 100 or so people
  17.  register it though.  Since most of those people registered during the earlier
  18.  $5.00 registration days, all little quick math will tell you that I haven't
  19.  gotten rich off of this project. On top of this I do provide voice support
  20.  for the program.  And just about every feature I have been asked to add has
  21.  been added.

  23.  So all I ask is that if you use the program, register it.  Hell, your first
  24. subscription just about pays for the program !!

  26.  On top of all of that,  now (thanks to this programming wizard who developed
  27. this de-compiler) now you have no idea what or who has had his/her fingers in
  28. the PPE's you're running.  As it used to be, if something went wrong with the
  29. PPE at least you knew who to blame.  Now, someone could download a copy of
  30. this or any other PPE and quickly write a little routine, that when run would
  31. write out a .BAT file that uses your PCBDRIVE environment setting and simply
  32. format your disk drive...... and then just upload the program under a new
  33. version name to Salt Air or your favorite BBS.

  35.  So,  I would strongly recommend that you obtain the PPE's that you run
  36. directly from the source.  Or, maybe use a disk editor on the PPE's you run
  37. and look for statements such as shell.  This command is used to run other
  38. programs, or .bat file under PPE control.  If you don't see any reason for
  39. the PPE to be doing something like that, I would suggest NOT running the
  40. program until you contact the author of the program.

  42.  Well, I guess its about time to step down off of my soapbox.  I just wanted
  43. you to understand that this "de-compiler" is out there, and that you should be
  44. very careful with your systems.  Even though Clark Development has added some
  45. encryption to PPL compiler there has been said to be a new version of this
  46. "decompiler" that will decompile the PPE's to source code.  Although the
  47. variables are renamed it is possible to mess around in the source code.
